A death doula empowers a dying person and their family to find meaning and sacredness in death through companionship, mentorship, and non-medical assistance.
We’ll determine together what this care looks like. For the dying person, a death doula may provide in-person or virtual companionship. For families, she is available as a resource. Death is a profound moment of life—a doula helps to ensure this sanctity.
My doula work includes:
Active listening and the creation of legacy / remembrance projects (ie: Stories, videos, memory boxes, etc.)
Counsel and help coordinating meaningful goodbyes
Uniquely-tailored rituals and mindfulness techniques for both the dying and family
Facilitating communication with hospice
Coordination with funeral care, including natural care and the National Home Funerals Alliance
